After struggling for years with addiction, Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning in 2011, according to OXO World.
Only a few months before her tragic death, the singer had gone on rehab to prepare for what was soon to be a big tourney.
Although the star was in a bad state of health, neither the manager nor Winehouse's father wanted to stop the singer from appearing. Father himself has later vehemently denied such claims.
Already in 2009, rumors spread that the father had taken cameras for his daughter's rehab. Although the man himself denied it, the singer also demanded a public explanation as to why the parent wanted her so badly.
In 2010, Winehouse divorced his boyfriend Reg Traviss, who allegedly got quite a bit of addiction to the star. It didn't take long before the feelings between the star and former sweetheart Blake Fielder-Civili began to heat up again.
Just a year before he died, the star admitted to the public that he was back with his wife, Blake, who later testified that he had just introduced heroin to the star. Despite the fact that just before she died, the singer had abandoned drugs, but years of poisoning had already had an effect.
Winehouse's last public appearance was with his goddaughter in London. The singer had a final chat with her bodyguard, Andrew Morris, just before bedtime. "He showed me clips from his laptop and sang. Finally, he joked that I can sing well and I added that he knows the truth." Yet the bodyguard admitted that the star was tired of celebrity. "He said that if he could give back his career, he would even walk down the street in peace."
