Iceland is represented in May by Rotterdam Da & Gagnamagnið with "Think About Things".
The singer and songwriter of the band, Daði Freyr, said in an interview with The Independent that she is two meters and eight centimeters, so she is used to being the center of attention.
Commenting on world-famous celebrity thanks to Russel Crowe's tweet, Freyr said: "I have the same feeling as when I first appeared in the Eurovision qualifier (Söngvakeppnin) three years ago. Nobody in Iceland knew me and it changed all night."
"It's on the internet, so it seems a long way off. I'm not sure what it all means. Russell Crowe shared our story ... he's a Gladiator," he was puzzled.
The band is set up specifically for the Eurovision Song Contest, and along with Dash, his wife, sister and friends join in. The theme of the family is pervasive in their creation. "This song is from my daughter. She's ten months old and now I'm starting to understand her a little bit. At first it was very strange because you love a person so much and you have no idea what she thinks about you," the singer explained.
