The phone would carry the flag of the iPhone SE, launched in 2016 and revolutionizing iPhone prices. Although the phone had a design language for older models, the low price was a sufficient argument for some phone fans and overall the SE model was a success.
Now Apple is hoping once again to use this recipe for success. Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the iPhone SE 2 will also be launched with a look similar to older models. While the SE borrowed its appearance from the iPhone 5, the new model is more reminiscent of the iPhone 8 series - with a bezel display and a home button.
There are fewer other gadgets, such as cameras, in the phone. Not offering Apple-to-Apple is also a low-cost, easy-to-use phone with support for the new iOS and thus motivating current iPhone buyers to buy a new phone.
However, this does not mean that the phone itself will make significant compromises in performance. According to current data, it would use an A13 processor chip used on both the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Prol. This also means that software updates can be expected over the years for cheap phones.
Since we have repeatedly used the term cheap phone here and also referred to an otherwise favorable price, then more specifically about it. According to Kuo, the phone will be priced at $ 399 (64GB internal memory) at the lowest price, but you can also buy a 128GB internal version for a maximum of $ 499.
The phone will probably be introduced in the first few months of next year. It has become a tradition that one annual Apple event takes place in March. Maybe we'll see the new phone already.
